Configuring Application Pooling

You can use the Component Services administrative tool to configure application pooling for COM+ applications. For more information about the background concepts related to application recycling, see Application Pooling Administration Concepts.

To configure application pooling for a COM+ application

Note   Library applications have the recycling and pooling properties of their host process.

1. In the console tree of the Component Services administrative tool, right-click the COM+ application you want to pool and then click Properties.
   
   
2. On the Pooling & Recycling tab, under Application Pooling, enter a value for Pool Size, depending on the number of instances of your application that you want to have running. If Pool Size is set to 1, which is the default value, the COM+ Application Pooling service is disabled.
   
   
3. Click OK.
